Faculty Positions
Faculty Position in Wealth and Trust Management
Gardner-Webb University invites applications for the above position beginning Fall 2012. J.D. with L.L.M or MBA, Trust Certificate a plus, excellent teaching credentials needed. Ability to work in a team environment required. Responsibilities: teach undergraduate and graduate classes in areas of concentration and other related business courses. Clinical Coordinator: School of Nursing
Gardner-Webb University School of Nursing is now accepting applications for our Nursing Clinical Coordinator position to begin August 13, 2012. This is a permanent, non-tenure track position, with rank and salary dependent on qualifications. Duties and responsibilities of this position include planning, coordinating and administration of clinical activities for students to support pre-licensure programs. The desired candidate should possess excellent organizational and administrative skills. BSN and current unrestricted nursing license required, MSN preferred.
Responsibilities include clinical scheduling and oversight of adjunct faculty supervising pre-licensure students at various healthcare facilities. Additional responsibilities include recruiting, retention, support and evaluation of clinical adjunct faculty. Student academic advising and other responsibilities associated with a faculty position is expected.

Assistant Professor of Education
GARDNER-WEBB UNIVERSITY seeks an Assistant Professor of Education for a position in the School of Education, beginning August 2012. Qualifications include desired Ph.D./Ed.D. (ABDs considered) in a related area with a strong background in curricular and instructional design, implementation and assessment at the undergraduate level, and the use of innovative educational technologies to enhance student learning. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of teaching experience at the preK-12 school level. Prior experience with supervising field experiences and student teaching and with teaching instructional technology is preferred. The successful candidate will be dedicated to undergraduate teaching and as a scholar-practitioner will demonstrate deep understanding of children, the ability to develop innovative strategies for helping undergraduate level teacher candidates excel in their careers, and a solid understanding of educational technology and its application to a variety of settings. Candidate needs also to understand or be willing to learn teacher accreditation standards of both NCATE and the State of North Carolina. Duties include teaching K-12 level foundations, curriculum, methods, literacy education, differentiated instruction and other courses related to K-12 level education; mentoring and advising undergraduate and graduate students; serving in the university community in a number of collaborative ways.

(ABDs considered) in School Administration and/or Curriculum & Instruction. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of administrative or curriculum leadership experience in public schools. Prior experience with higher education instruction is preferred. The successful candidate will be dedicated to graduate teaching and as a scholar-practitioner will demonstrate deep understanding administrative preparation, the ability to develop innovative strategies for helping graduate candidates excel in their careers, and a solid understanding of educational technology and its application to a variety of settings. Candidate needs also to understand or be willing to learn educational accreditation standards of both NCATE and the State of North Carolina. Duties include teaching graduate level courses in executive leadership and/or curriculum & instruction at the school level and school system level; mentoring and advising graduate students; serving in the university community in a number of collaborative ways. One of the two positions will be assigned to coordinate Ed S program of studies pending full approval of the program.

Faculty Position and Clinical Education Coordinator
Gardner-Webb University invites applications for a faculty member in the Department of Physical Education, Wellness, and Sport Studies. This is a permanent, non-tenure track position, with rank and salary dependent on qualifications. Applicants are required to hold an earned master’s degree in athletic training or related field from a regionally accredited college or university. The candidate must have experience at both teaching at the collegiate level and clinical education coordination. Current license as an athletic trainer in NC or ability to obtain licensure is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching by assisting the Athletic Training Education Program Director with the oversight of the clinical education requirements for our CAATE accredited undergraduate program.

Geography Position
Gardner-Webb University seeks an individual qualified to teach courses in Geography, Secondary Social Studies methods, and Global Understanding (a general education course addressing contemporary world issues). In addition, the opportunity exists to broaden Geography course offerings. The position also requires coordination of the Secondary Social Studies licensure program, including supervision of student teachers in Secondary Social Studies (typically 0-3 per semester). The candidate should have expertise and graduate training (Ph.D. preferred, but at least a Masters Degree) in human and/or cultural Geography and qualification in Secondary Social Studies teacher licensure. Standard teaching load is four courses per semester ; salary and benefits are competitive with institutions of similar size and purpose.

Voice Professor
Gardner-Webb University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Music (rank dependent on qualifications). Principal teaching duties include Applied Voice and Music Survey. Possible additional courses include Diction and Vocal Pedagogy as needed. Doctoral degree in music or a masters degree plus professional experience preferred. The candidate must be committed to undergraduate teaching and demonstrate success as a performer in the area of classical voice. Faculty Position in Exercise Science
Gardner-Webb University invites applications for a faculty position in Exercise Science in the Department of Physical Education, Wellness, and Sport Studies. This is a tenure-track position, with rank and salary dependent on qualifications. A terminal degree in Exercise Science or a related field is desired. The candidate must be able to teach several courses within the department, including perhaps the general education program. Course assignments could include the following: Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, Program Planning and Evaluation, Kinesiology, Exercise Leadership, and Exercise Programming for Special Populations. Responsibilities include advising students, and the ability to provide service to the university, department, profession and community. The start date is August 13, 2012.

Qualifications include professional experience, college teaching experience, and a commitment to excellence; terminal degree (MFA or PhD) preferred. The successful candidate will possess strong administrative skills, a commitment to mentoring students, and engaged collegiality.
Responsibilities include teaching acting/directing, theatre history and other academic courses according to expertise (normally six hours per semester); selecting/directing/producing theatre repertoire (normally two per semester); academic advising; recruiting/auditioning prospective students; integrating theatre productions into the academic program; mentoring senior capstone projects.
