Dr. Lawrence's areas of expertise include video and film production, scriptwriting, and theater.

Prior to entering education full-time, Dr. Lawrence worked a number of years in the Los Angeles film and television industries and still maintains his membership in both the Writers and Directors Guilds. He has written several 2-hour movies for network television, including "Child of Glass" and "The Sky Trap" for Walt Disney Productions and "Missing Children: A Mother's Story" for Warner Bros./CBS. One of the numerous religious and educational films he wrote and directed is "Truce In The Forest," a multiple-award-winning Christmas film still shown around the world. He has also been active in the theater, directing plays for the Downey Civic Light Opera, Whittier-La Mirada Civic Light Opera, Burbank Civic Light Opera, and  the Asheville Community Theatre. Of special note, Dr. Lawrence has just published his fourth novel, "In The Flip-Flops of Jesus," a rather scandalous account of the early days of Christian movie making in Hollywood in the 1950s.
