James R. McConnell, Jr. joined the School of Divinity faculty in 2009. He teaches New Testament Greek, Theological German, Introduction to New Testament I, Introduction to New Testament II, Theory and Practice of Ministry, Theology of Luke/Acts, The Ministry of Biblical Interpretation, and Galatians. Dr. McConnell is the author of The topos of Divine Testimony in Luke/Acts. He has served as the associate editor of Perspectives in Religious Studies.
Prior to joining the faculty of the School of Divinity, Dr. McConnell taught as an adjunct professor at University of Mary Hardin Baylor, Belton, Texas. A former software engineer, Dr. McConnell designed, wrote, and tested extensive C-language programs for a new dental unit. Dr. McConnell is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana. He is married to Susan McConnell, and they are the parents of three children.
