Erin Anderson (2014)
Gardner-Webb University prepared me very well for life after graduation. During my time at Gardner-Webb, I developed skills and qualities such as time management, organization, a diligent work ethic, discipline, tenacity, and a willingness and excitement to learn. These skills prepped me tremendously for the graduate school application process. I will soon be attending a graduate school at Durham University in Durham, England where I will study and receive a master’s degree in Management (Entrepreneurship).
In particular, the opportunities and experiences that were offered to me in the Exercise Science program have prepared me for graduate school and for life as a future business owner, where I plan to incorporate both sports nutrition and sports training in one facility. The hands on laboratory activities and the internship were the two most influential and rewarding experiences the Exercise Science program offered. These experiences solidified the material that was taught and studied in the classroom and provided practical evidences to support the classroom teaching.
Without the support, encouragement, and knowledge of the faculty and staff at Gardner-Webb University, and specifically the faculty of the Exercise Science program, my growth as a person and potential as a future professional would have been lessened. The relationships I have made with my professors and my peers at Gardner-Webb University are relationships to be cherished and thankful for. I could not imagine a greater experience than the one I received from Gardner-Webb.
