Preceptors play a vital role in the education of PA students and, in addition to the rewarding experience of being a part of educating the future medical providers, also can potentially be awarded category 1 CME for their participation.

Preceptors are required to provide PA students with the opportunity to participate in patient care under supervision, provide guidance to the PA students, and provide feedback to the university on the PA student's performance.
