Q. Who can request a Peer Tutor?
A. Any Gardner-Webb University student can request a Peer Tutor for any core class.
Q. How do I request a tutor?
A. You need to go to Lap Form on the Lap Home Page and fill out the LAP form.
Q. What is the cost of the Peer Tutor?
A. FREE! No cost to you at all.
Q. How do I know that my Peer Tutor is qualified?
A. Your Peer Tutor has been referred by a Gardner-Webb professor and received tutor training.
Q. What if I have trouble with my Peer Tutor or haven't heard about getting a tutor within a week?
A. Please call the LAP office with any concerns or problems. We will take care of you.
Q. Where do my tutor and I meet?
A. Tutoring sessions take place in Frank Nanny Hall on Sundays through Thursdays from 4-9pm.
Q. How often do we meet?
A. We encourage regular weekly meetings, an hour or two at the most. Some students only wish to meet their tutors before tests, and that is all right, as long as there is good communication between you.
Q. What if I have to cancel a tutoring session?
A. You will have the Peer Tutor’s phone number and email address, and you are responsible for letting your tutor know about cancellations a day in advance. If you miss two scheduled meetings with your tutor, we will revoke your privilege and cancel your tutor rights.
