Greenville Health System

The GHS program in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is accredited for Level One and Level Two with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). The ACPE is nationally recognized as an accrediting agency in the field of Clinical Pastoral Education by the U.S. Secretary of Education through the U.S. Department of Education. The residency program provides a full year (rotating admission) of intensive, post-graduate Clinical Pastoral Education including clinical rotation opportunities. Our system offers a wide variety of areas in which residents may participate during their training including:

  • Greenville Memorial Hospital (614-bed tertiary care center)
  • Level One Trauma Center
  • Heart Institute
  • Children’s Hospital
  • Cancer Center
  • Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital
  • Palliative Care
  • Marshall Pickens Psychiatric Hospital

Prerequisites for residency include one prior unit of CPE. Tuition is $350.00 per unit due the first day of the unit. The program runs on a rotating admission and offers a stipend competitive with that of other centers in the Southeast. There is a $25.00 application fee, checks made payable to "GHS Department of Spiritual Care & Education.

Pastoral Ministry Internships

First Baptist Church
Sylva, NC

Spend a summer, semester or year serving at a church in the mountains of Western North Carolina near Asheville! Intended for college students, recent graduates and seminary students, the pastoral internships at First Baptist Church in Sylva provide exposure and experience in a variety of disciplines, including but not limited to: children’s ministry, youth ministry, music ministry, social justice ministry, pastoral and preaching ministries. Compensation includes a stipend and housing (on-site as available). Interns can expect pastoral coaching, materials for vocational discernment and the support of an encouraging congregation. First Baptist Church is a vibrant faith community with a dynamic mission. The church is located on Main Street in a mountain town near the Blue Ridge Parkway, Western Carolina University and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Community Minister

Northwest Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a community minister for collaborative/shared ministry position with a focus on outreach and growing the Kingdom of God. We are seeking to build relationships with our neighbors while sharing the love and joy of Jesus Christ. Northwest is a small church settled amid many single family homes, apartments and town homes as well as schools.

Our congregation is older yet has a passion for sharing the love of God with those around us. Applicant must have experience in church planting and degree from accredited divinity school or seminary. Position would involve some preaching, teaching, and worship planning as well as assisting in the development of the vision for the direction of Northwest. Part-time or bi-vocational considered.

Associate Director

Position Overview

The Associate Director will have the opportunity to impact the Kingdom through individual and congregational transformation and to expand the Inasmuch ministry in creative ways. He/she assists the Executive Director of the Inasmuch ministry in all aspects of the ministry to include but not limited to the Key Responsibilities listed below.

Key Responsibilities

  • Share the Inasmuch model of compassion ministry through large and small group presentations, training sessions, and written presentations
  • Assist the Executive Director in all administrative and fundraising aspects of the Inasmuch ministry
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of resources used in marketing Inasmuch and training congregations and faith-based groups in conducting Inasmuch events
  • Assist in all aspects of marketing the Inasmuch ministry.
