Faculty Spotlight - Dr. A. Douglas Eury

Dr. A. Douglas Eury was named dean of the School of Education at Gardner-Webb University in January 2011.

 

Dr. Eury holds his bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University, his master’s degree in Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and his Education Specialist and Doctorate in Education degrees from Appalachian State.

 

Before becoming dean, Dr. Eury served 11 years as a professor of Education at Gardner-Webb, before which he worked for years as an educator and administrator in North Carolina public schools.

 

In addition to the duties of the dean, Dr. Eury serves as director of the Center for Innovative Leadership Development and Director of Doctoral Studies in Educational Administration, as well as Curriculum & Instruction. He, along with Dr. Jane King & John D. Balls, has co-authored Rethink, Rebuild, Rebound: A Framework for Shared Responsibility and Accountability in Education, along with several journal articles.
