Candidates for admission into the program can have an Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal/General Studies, an Associates of Science, Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree from a regionally accredited institution. Candidates may also choose to meet the core requirements of Gardner-Webb University by transferring a minimum of 46 hours from an accredited institution. All interested candidates will follow the admission procedures for University day students and must be fully admitted into the University.
After being admitted into Gardner-Webb University, candidates must also complete the requirements for admission into the Teacher Education Program. Admission into the Teacher Education Program includes the following:
- A cumulative 2.50 grade point average after the first two semesters of work;
- Achieving passing scores on the Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST) within the first two semesters of work or meet the SBE alternative requirements; and
- Completing the other requirements that are published in the Teacher Education Handbook.
