I Want to Apply as an International Student

Step 1: Admission Requirements

Gardner-Webb Requires the Following Documents From an International Students:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 500 (paper-based), 173 (computer-based), or 61 (internet-based). International English Language Test System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 5.0. Duolingo English Test with a minimum score of 95. SAT or ACT scores may be used in lieu of TOEFL or IELTS with minimum scores met.
  • Documentation of your ability to financially support yourself while in the United States to your Embassy and to Gardner-Webb.
  • Submit all transcripts of foreign college credits to World Education Services (WES) for evaluation prior to mailing to Gardner-Webb. WES applications are available at www.wes.org or call (800) 937-3895.
  • International Student Processing Fee of $150 (U.S.) will be required by money order, credit card, or wire transfer.
  • An I-20 will be sent after formal acceptance and receipt of the $150 fee.

High school transcripts and SAT/ACT test scores required if completed less than 16 credit hours in college.

Step 2: Apply to Gardner-Webb 

  • Complete an Online Application
  • Submit Academic Documents
  • Send in the International Student Processing Fee of $150 (U.S.)

You will be contacted by your admissions counselor if more information is needed. We will notify you within three weeks regarding your admission status. Please contact your counselor if you have any questions.

Step 3: Financial Aid

  • International students (freshmen and transfers) are eligible for merit-based academic scholarships. An estimated scholarship amount can be found by using the Merit Scholarship Calculator.
  • International students are not eligible for federal or state financial aid grants or loan programs. Students may work on campus if a university position is open and the student successfully interviews for a campus-based job. Jobs are not guaranteed. International students are eligible to receive athletic scholarships. Please visit the athletics website to learn more about Division I athletic awards.

Step 4: Important Dates

  • Admission decisions are made dependent upon the receipt of a completed application and all supporting documentation. Acceptance notifications will be delivered three weeks after these documents are received.
