Online Reference Chat

Reference librarians are available to help answer your questions 24/7 (except for Sat/Sun midnight-8am).

Reference librarians attempt to respond to instant message questions as quickly as possible (usually within minutes unless they are away from the desk helping other patrons).

Reference Chat is intended primarily for the students, faculty, and staff of Gardner-Webb University.  The service is best suited for short, fact-based questions and general questions on finding the best resource options available for a given topic. Those with more indepth questions are encouraged to come by the library or to speak to a reference librarian over the phone.
