John R. Dover Library Gift Policy
The Dover Library accepts donations of materials in good condition. Donations of gifts in kind are accepted with the understanding that the materials become the property of the Dover Library, and that lists of titles and valuation are the responsibility of the donor. Dover Library may use, keep or handle items at its discretion.
Materials that are relevant to the library's mission to support the teaching and research programs of the University will be added at the library's discretion. Books donated in honor or memoriam of someone are gladly accepted, but inclusion in the collection of a certain item cannot be guaranteed. The library also accepts donations of funds for the purchase of materials. Contact the Dean of the Library for more information.
Gift Handling Procedure
Gifts may be delivered to the library circulation desk, where donation forms are available. Persons filling out a donation form will receive a thank you note indicating the number of boxes or volumes received as a receipt for their donation. Book plates indicating the donor's name will be placed in materials selected for addition to the library collection.
