Gardner-Webb University welcomed four Japanese engineering students during a two-week visit to experience English, engineering and American culture. The study abroad visit was made possible through the University’s English as a Second Language program, facilitated by World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures Associate Professor Dr. Lorene Pagcaliwagan.
Local school children learned some inside information about several faraway countries (Great Britain, France, Switzerland, and Trinidad and Tobago) from Gardner-Webb University International Programs representatives during Cultural Awareness Day at Fallston Elementary School.
"I hear from our international students often that this is a caring, loving community, and that helps them get acclimated easier to their new home here in the states." - Ms. Gail Peace, Assistant Director of International Programs
