Todd Anthony Picou

Todd Anthony Picou grew up in South Louisiana where he adopted a rich heritage of family and community. Mr. Picou earned his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Louisiana State University in 1988. He later earned his Master of Business Administration from Gardner-Webb University in 2003. Mr. Picou is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Spartanburg and Rural Leadership Spartanburg.

Dr. Anthony Negbenebor, Professor of Economics, recalls Mr. Picou as "one of our most successful entrepreneurs from our Godbold School of Business. His approach to business is very refreshing, astute and innovative. His company has received numerous awards both nationally and locally. He was one of my best students."

In 1997, Mr. Picou co-founded Hospice Care of South Carolina, LLC, the largest hospice provider in the state of South Carolina, serving the entire state from thirty-three locations.

In 2000, Mr. Picou co-founded the Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that has provided over $100,000 to help those with special needs at the end of their life. This foundation also works to educate communities about hospice. Mr. Picou currently serves as its chairman.

In 2014, the company expanded to the state of Georgia creating Hospice Care of Georgia, LLC.

Because of Mr. Picou’s work with hospice and palliative care in South Carolina and Georgia, he currently serves on the Public Policy Committee for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
