Through GWU’s Flexible Benefits Plan, employees are offered a wide range of coverage.  From numerous benefit offerings, employees can pick and choose the coverage that is right for them and their families.  Insurance for Group Life and AD&D, Short Term Disability, and Long Term Disability are offered through Unum Life Insurance Company. Gardner-Webb University also offers Dental Insurance through the Lincoln Financial Group and Vision Insurance through Eyemed. (See below for additional and valuable information on these Flexible Benefit Plans.)

Flexible Spending Accounts offer employees the chance to put aside money for out-of-pocket medical expenses or expenses associated with care for dependents.   Employees who choose this option will receive a Flexible Spending Account credit card preloaded with the chosen amount.

Gardner-Webb University Retirement Plan

Gardner-Webb offers a very attractive retirement plan for employees with TIAA as the administrator of their plan. After selecting investment options that reflect a comfort level with different amounts of risk, and the appropriate amount of salary reduction (pre-tax), employees are ready to watch their retirement account grow.

After completing one year of service with Gardner-Webb or with another 403(b) provider, employees are eligible to receive matching funds of 4% of their salary by contributing at least 4% of their own salary.
