Martin Luther King Tributes at GWU

Martin Luther King Event to Be Held at
Gardner-Webb
Jan. 15 - 1:00 PM – Dover Chapel

The Civil Rights Movement is not just something of the past.  The Gardner-Webb Divinity School students aim to make the movement part of the present and future by remembering and honoring the sacrifices of the great leaders that went before us.

“The group wants to honor the priceless heritage we all have in this history,” said Dr. Sherry Adams, professor of theology and Christian history.  In an effort to do so, the students are leading a special chapel service on Monday, January 15, 2007 at Dover Chapel on the campus of Gardner-Webb University.  The service is built upon King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.  The themes of the speech will be the threads that weave the service together.

GWU President Dr. Frank Bonner extends an invitation to the community to join the students, faculty and staff of Gardner-Webb University in honoring the significance of the civil rights leaders for our country and the Church.  The service takes place at 1 PM on Monday, January 15, 2007 at Gardner-Webb University.
