Director of Mental Health Provider Speaks at Gardner-Webb

Kenneth Friday is committed to Make Positive Differences in the Lives of Children

Boiling Springs, N.C. – Kenneth Friday, Executive Director of Friday’s Place and a Gardner-Webb graduate, will speak at Gardner-Webb University’s next Dimensions Program on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 9:25 a.m. in Paul Porter Arena in the Lutz Yelton Convocation Center.

Friday established a mental health provider for children and adults in the Gaston County area in June 2002. Friday’s Place, Inc., provides a variety of services essential for the development of a successful future in a child’s life.

“Kenneth graduated from Gardner-Webb in the 1990s and it is always special to have an alumnus return to speak in Dimensions,” said Tracy Jessup, minister to Gardner-Webb University. “The service his organization provides to families in Gaston County truly embodies the motto of the University – for God and humanity.”

The organization is committed to meeting the needs of the community with a family centered service sensitive to each individual’s needs. According to the website, the provider’s goal is to “educate the community about developmental disabilities and mental illnesses along with the contributions our customers make to community life.”

Friday and the administrative staff direct field service employees as they perform services in the community. Services offered include community support for all ages, patient therapy, and community alternative programs (personal care in the home and training for caregivers).

Gardner-Webb University’s Dimensions programs are free and open to the public. The goal of Dimensions is to enhance the spiritual, intellectual and cultural life of the University and also to promote a sense of community. Dimensions are held on Tuesdays at 9:25 a.m. For information on future Dimensions presenters, contact Tracy Jessup at 704-406-4279.
