Annual GWU Event Supports Cancer Fundraising, Awareness
Each year, Gardner-Webb students join a global effort to fight cancer by organizing and hosting a Relay for Life fundraiser for the University community.
Events in recent years have raised thousands of dollars for the American Cancer Society, while also bringing together a local network of people with a common goal to celebrate survivors, comfort those battling the disease, and find a cure.
Members of the Gardner-Webb community are invited to join the fight by supporting this year’s Relay for Life event, set for Friday, Feb. 17, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center on campus.
In addition to raising money to benefit cancer victims and research, the event will include activities to remember those who have lost their lives to the disease and celebrate those who have overcome it.
