The Office of Student Leadership Development and Community Engagement works to equip students to serve and to lead effectively. At Gardner-Webb, we strive to exhibit our values by how we live. When it comes to service, we roll up our sleeves and get things done. We work hard to identify and meet legitimate needs in our community and around the world. We provide students with a number of opportunities each semester to serve with their peers meeting needs and building relationships that last a lifetime. It’s our hope that students will move beyond volunteerism into a lifestyle of service. We want our students to be those that people count on when a need arises.

Service and leadership go hand-in-hand. Strong student leaders are vital for effectiveness as an institution. Whether its leading in a service project, a campus organization, or student government, we offer excellent opportunities for students to practice and hone their leadership skills as they prepare for their future. We use these opportunities to help them align their lives with their strengths, passions and purpose. We believe there’s no better place to make this happen than Gardner-Webb University.

Student Organizations

Gardner-Webb is proud to support over 50 student-led organizations on our campus providing students opportunities to serve and lead with others that share their passions and interests. From Disc Golf to Campus Civitans, our students have tons of opportunities to connect with others who enjoy doing the same things they do. Joining a club is a great way to build relationships and participate in activities that enhance the college experience. Let us help you connect with a student organization today! Email questions to

Student Government Association

One of the many student organizations we offer is the Student Government Association (SGA). SGA is a great way to lead and serve by representing the student body on issues that pertain directly to the academic and campus experience. SGA is comprised of a student senate including executive officers and officers from each of the four student classes elected each year by the student body. Whether it’s planning homecoming festivities or advocating for change on behalf of students, SGA strives to improve the Gardner-Webb experience.
