Erin holds a BA in Human and Community Service from Lenoir-Rhyne University. Having been very involved in her undergraduate experience, Erin recognizes the transformative experience of college student development, having served as President of the Campus Activities Board, Vice President for Membership of her sorority as well as Student Government Association President. Erin's background is in undergraduate, transfer, and graduate enrollment management. The ability to assist students in starting lifetime goals of education was an incredibly rewarding experience, which inspired Erin to continue her education earning an MA in Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University. In addition, Erin holds a certification as a Career Development Facilitator through the National Career Development Association (NCDA), certification as a Myers-Briggs instructor, and is licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA). She is currently continuing her education in the Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership Program at Gardner-Webb University.
Erin enjoys connecting and collaborating with students to aid in personal and professional development. As part of her position as Assistant Director, Erin coordinates many of the career development workshops and programming events offered to students and regularly speaks to classes or student groups. She also assists in managing Career Development's job and and internship database, WebbWorks. Erin's greatest goal is to make a difference in the lives of the students she reaches through her efforts with programming, technology and personal appointments.
Anne Mason Stewart
Anne graduated with a BS in Health Promotion from Appalachian State University, initially in pursuit of a career in public health. Following significant and awakening experiences, Anne returned to Appalachian State and received her MA in College Student Development. Her career journey began as an English as a Foreign Language teacher in Thailand. Upon her return to North Carolina, Anne worked in the Center for Civic Engagement and Service Learning at Appalachian State University, coordinating student-led domestic and international service experiences. In addition, Anne's background includes guiding students through their personal and professional journeys in Appalachian's Career Development Center.
As the Internship Coordinator at Gardner-Webb, Anne serves as a resource, guide, and supporter of all things pertaining to internships as well as the Certified Internship Program. Anne promotes student development through experiential learning, providing tools to find success and preparing future opportunities. Anne's role is to be the bridge between students and internship opportunities, working to establish meaningful and intentional partnerships throughout the Gardner-Webb community and beyond.
Sylvia holds a BS in Life Coaching and Counseling from Liberty University. As an adult learner during her degree completion, Sylvia demonstrated how to successfully manage work and school as well as family obligations. Her educational journey led her to seek out an internship with the Center for Career Development at Gardner-Webb University. Through this experience, Sylvia gained valuable knowledge on career development and assisting students along their personal career journey. Upon finishing her internship, Sylvia joined the Career Development staff as the part-time Office Manager.
Sylvia greets guests in the Center for Career Development and facilitates the needs of students and employers alike. Through this, she offers guidance, assistance, and instruction to assist students in accomplishing goals. Sylvia works extensively to publish the Hot List, our weekly job and internship board and TV circuit.
