Earth Day

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtfully committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.” These words by Margaret Mead share our hope for the celebration of Earth Day. As we celebrate Earth Day here at Gardner-Webb, our goal is to support the commitment and desire of our students to be a force for positive change in the world.

This year’s focus for Earth Day is the continuing issue of clean water. There will be a competition to collect funds to build a well in Africa where water is often scarce and clean water is even more difficult to come by. Throughout this event we will also share ideas and information about how to make the world a better place through our recycling and energy conservation efforts.
