

Start your journey as a college student by joining us on a great adventure to “Get Your Bearings.” This optional trip has been planned especially for incoming freshmen. The program is designed to help you build relationships at Gardner-Webb University before the fall semester begins. You will have an opportunity to meet and interact with other incoming students, upper classman, and faculty/staff members while exploring Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. We will be camping out for three nights of the trip. All equipment except for a sleeping bag and personal items will be provided. The two options for trips are July 15 - 18 or July 22 – 25. Space is limited, so please register early. The registration form can be found in the Immediate Response section of the Transitions Book, or can be downloaded and printed from this page. The cost is $225. Make checks payable to Gardner-Webb University. Deadlines for registration forms and payment are a month before the trip you choose, June 15 or June 22 respectively. Cancellations received before the deadline will result in a $50 non-refundable charge. Cancellations made on or after the deadline will result in a charge for the full cost of the trip. Once your registration is accepted, a comprehensive packet of information will be mailed to you including a program schedule, insurance forms, and packing list Get your bearings at Gardner-Webb University’s Broyhill Adventure Course, boasting the Alpine Tower II, Carolina Straight Wall, Giant Swing and Team Development Course.
