Academic Advisor & School Partnership Coordinator

The College of Education at Gardner-Webb University seeks a strong candidate to serve as the Education Preparation Program (EPP) Academic Advisor and School Partnership Coordinator. The position will report to the Dean of the College of Education.

duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete administrative duties as assigned by the Dean
  • Schedule meetings; manage calendars and appointments; supervise work-study students
  • Collaborate with the Dean and Enrollment Services to support recruitment and commencement activities
  • Communicate as needed with school systems to market programs and develop partnerships
  • Maintain Memorandums of Understanding with school districts
  • Address inquiries to the College of Education in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with current and prospective candidates in the College of Education
  • Understand the objectives, requirements, and content for College of Education programs
  • Work with the Dean and program coordinators to develop and input the course schedule in Banner each semester
  • Assist full-time and adjunct faculty in the College of Education in supporting their respective programs
  • Work with other departments across campus to fulfill College of Education needs
  • Assist with conducting one-on-one advisement sessions with candidates
  • Assist with developing a plan of study for candidates and communicate requirements
  • Assist prospective students with admissions processes as needed
  • Assist with the registration of Traditional Undergraduate (TUG) and Degree Completion Program (DCP) students for courses each semester based on individualized plan of study and advisement
  • Work with the Enrollment Management Office to support the admissions processes including requesting transcripts, reviewing applications, and communicating with applicants
  • Work with the Enrollment Management Office to assist with transcript evaluation, as needed.
  • Work with the secondary Residency Licensure (RL) programs to complete necessary North Carolina Department of Public Instruction documents for admission to GWU and the Education Preparation Program

preferred Qualifications:

  • AA or Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with working with multiple departments, personnel, and systems
  • Experience working at higher education institutions or public/private school systems
  • Experience with Google, Microsoft Suite, Ripplestone, and Native Banner
  • Experience working independently in a multi-faceted environment
