Admissions Operations Coordinator

The admissions operations coordinator is a key member of the traditional undergraduate admissions team and coordinates the daily admissions processing and support functions for the office.  This includes oversight of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) processes and data integrity for all new traditional undergraduate student records.

Essential duty and responsibility is to assist with all aspects of student recruitment and enrollment management for Undergraduate Admission by performing the following:

  • Creates, executes, and manages student records in the CRM-Slate for inquiry, applications, and accepted students
  • Works closely with enrollment operations to ensure data fields are correctly populated, lead lists are correctly uploaded, and admissions processing of student records and applications are accurate in Slate
  • Reviews and evaluates processes in Slate and back-end operations and offers suggestions for continual enhancements
  • Downloads, files, and processes transcripts for student records
  • Releases and reviews admissions decisions through Slate
  • Develops reports and queries to track admissions processes and student record accuracy
  • Responsible for data integrity and ensures data from Slate is integrating into Banner; serves as the point person for other university offices on data needs
  • Works closely with the Technology Services Department
  • Stays informed of updates and new procedures as it relates to the management of data in Slate and Banner
  • Attends trainings and webinars on Slate to improve efficiency in office operations
  • Supports the undergraduate admissions team with Slate questions and best practices
  • Acts as a spokesperson for GWU on the phone, in-person, or at special recruitment events
  • Assists the office support team with daily operations and office coverage
  • Other projects assigned to support admissions operations by supervisor

Qualification Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. He/she must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Banner, and CRM systems, ideally Slate.  He/she must possess personal characteristics and values consistent with the mission of GWU: friendly, approachable, patient, caring, flexible, professional, self-directed, trustworthy, committed to task, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.


Bachelor’s degree from a four year regionally accredited college or university.  At least one year of experience in an administrative role in higher education is preferred.
