Athletic Graduate Intern – Media Relations

Gardner-Webb University’s Department of Athletics is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Intern position in its Athletics Media Relations Department.

Job Duties:

• Serve as the primary contact for selected sports as well as assisting with other sports as assigned.
• Timely production of website content, social media content, press releases and publications for assigned sports.
• Successful input, compilation and distribution of statistics for assigned sports is also necessary and some travel may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree and acceptance into a graduate program at Gardner-Webb are required.
• A degree in sports management, communications, journalism or related field and experience as an undergraduate in an athletics communications office is preferred.
• Familiarity with statistics software (StatCrew), social media platforms, desktop publishing software (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Creative Suite) and photography is preferred.

compensation:

The Graduate Intern position is up to a two-year commitment beginning with the 2022-2023 academic year and includes bi-weekly pay, books and a limited meal plan.

Other details:

Evening and weekend hours are common and holiday hours are also expected. The position reports to the Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations.
