Continuing Education Specialist

Gardner-Webb is seeking a Continuing Education Specialist for the Digital Learning Department to assist with the management of the Searight PACE Professional and Continuing Education certificate courses as well as provide customer service to prospective students interested in degree programs at Gardner-Webb University. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Digital Learning and works collaboratively with the Assistant Vice President for Business development and Partnerships, and other key leaders.

primary RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Convey excellent customer service to individuals inquiring about the Searight PACE certificates courses and Gardner-Webb University degree programs offered either by phone, in person or e-mail.
• Register students and verify payment for Searight Professional and Continuing Education courses.
• Enter leads in CRM- SLATE system and maintain files related to programs in a confidential manner.
• Participate in outreach events for the Searight PACE Professional and continuing Education programs.
• Perform office support duties, which may include scanning documents, review of un-registered list of participants and registering students into the Searight PACE courses.
• Professionally assist prospective students through the registration process in accordance with all applicable federal and state regulations, school policies and procedures, and in compliance with all accrediting standards and requirements.
• Contact students if course is cancelled, document roster and forward payment forms to the Business Office.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel (10-15%) between main campus in Boiling Springs, NC and Charlotte Center as needed.
• Ability to remain flexible and easily adapt to changes in work environment or schedule.
• Utilize critical thinking, professional expertise, and problem-solving skills to address and resolve client issues and concerns and to ensure positive client experience.
• Document all client interactions and engage in reliable data entry and information management to ensure data integrity for reporting, analysis, marketing, recruiting, and budget projections.
• Guide and assist current and prospective applicants through the registration process, including answering questions related to the Searight PACE Continuing Education certificate courses, academic program requirements, online learning options, and other application-related tasks.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred from a regionally accredited college or university.
• 3 years of related experience in higher education, continuing education and/or student services experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and in the use of or ability to quickly learn CRM (SLATE), Banner, and other software platforms as needed.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including confident, professional, and customer-friendly phone, e-mail, video-conferencing, and interpersonal skills; the ability to function in a team environment; a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
• Energetic, service-oriented, motivated, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines.
• Detail-oriented and committed to following up in a timely fashion.
