COVID Testing Staff

Gardner-Webb University invites applications for an individual to supervise and conduct testing for COVID-19.  This person will be responsible for conducting COVID testing and work closely with the Athletic Training Staff to conduct and supervise testing. They will also monitor the testing site to ensure positive and negatives results are properly documented according to current protocol. This is an immediate opening. This is a temporary, as-needed position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clearly communicate with others
  • Provide instructions on how to perform the COVID test
  • Document test results according to department protocol
  • Report positive cases to the Athletic Trainer(s) and provide instructions for the student-athlete
  • Multi-task and work independently from direct supervision
  • Wear all PPE as provided
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor

Qualification/Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:

Physical:

  • Employee must frequently and independently able to lift 10 pound items in a repetitive manner and occasionally able to lift item up to 15 pounds. 
  • The employee must not have any sensitivity to common medical supplies.
  • The employee must be able to work with PPE being worn at times. 
  • The employee must be able to work consistently for 2 hours completing common activities without breaks. 
  • Employee must have substantial range of motion to complete assigned tasks   
  • Employee must be able to travel up to two flights of stairs carrying supplies and equipment.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret safety literature and office correspondence. 
  • Ability to complete order forms and understand manuals. 

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited resources exist. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Transportation:

Ability to provide transportation to work daily and on time.

Attendance:

  • Ability to be at work regularly, and as needed.
  • Hours of work may begin as early as 6:00 a.m.
