Data Specialist

Gardner-Webb is seeking a Data Specialist for the Digital Learning Department. This position provides comprehensive customer service in a high-volume and challenging, fast-paced environment by performing a variety of responsibilities. This position is responsible for data administration and maintenance, office management, and administrative support within the programs of Digital Learning and Searight PACE programs. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Digital Learning and works collaboratively with the Director of Admissions and Office Manager.

primary responsibilites:

  • Convey excellent customer service to individuals inquiring about the Digital Learning programs and Searight PACE certificates courses either by phone, in person or e-mail.
  • Enter leads in CRM- SLATE system and maintain files related to programs in a confidential manner.
  • Assist the Office Manager in putting all Digital Learning applications into AppXtender and SLATE.
  • Support Liaison to the Nursing Recruiters when files are submitted.
  • Stay up to date with applicant data integrity by pulling weekly reports and updating student files.
  • Respond to Online- Degree Completion (DCP) and GRAD emails.
  • Perform office support duties, which may include scanning documents, completing acceptances, review of background checks and pulling official transcripts daily.
  • Coordinate with admissions leadership and others to assess current functionality and processes and suggest system enhancements that will support office goals and complement other initiatives.
  • Ability to remain flexible and easily adapt to changes in work environment or schedule.
  • Utilize critical thinking, professional expertise, and problem-solving skills to address and resolve student issues and concerns and to ensure positive client experience.
  • Tackle Slate-related issues for department staff.
  • Apply Slate knowledge to suggest improvements to business processes and configurations.
  • Check, open, and disseminate mail, logging student documents received into appropriate data systems.
  • Maintain accurate data records in Banner and SLATE. Change of application start term and application status.
  • Assist the Digital Learning staff with any other responsibilities as needed.
  • Assist in monthly reporting though the SLATE dashboard. Calls, text, follow-up task.

education, experience and work environment:

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • 3 years of related experience in higher education, continuing education and/or student services experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and in the use of or ability to quickly learn CRM (SLATE), Banner, and other software platforms as needed.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including confident, professional, and customer-friendly phone, e-mail, video-conferencing, and interpersonal skills; the ability to function in a team environment; a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Energetic, service-oriented, motivated, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to following up in a timely fashion.
