Director of Football Operations/On-Campus Recruiting

Gardner-Webb University is seeking a Director of Football Operations/ On-Campus Recruiting (DFO). The DFO will provide strategic vision and effective leadership to strengthen the administrative operations of the GWU Football program. The DFO will report to the Head Football Coach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic vision and effective leadership for the administrative operation of the GWU football program
• Total control, in conjunction with the head coach, of the oversight of all purchases, payment requests, and transmittals from the football program budgets.
• Control scheduling, practice and game preparation, and all team travel including transportation, meals, hotels as well as all pre-season meals, etc.
• Scheduling all on and off campus community services projects and liaison with the University Engagement Team
• Supervise all off-field responsibilities of the football graduate interns to include work schedule, job duties, timesheets, etc.
• Coordinate all recruiting for football including vehicle reservations, flights, ground transportation, lodging, meals, scheduling on-campus visits with various departments, etc.
• Overall office management and the well-being of the student-athletes
• Coordinate the ARMS Programs for all the football coaching staff
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations that relate to recruiting, eligibility, and the operation of the football program
• Handle all day-to-day operations of the football program and work with other administrative offices on campus
• Assist with the administrative and organizational needs of all Football coaching staff
• Articulate, support, and uphold the University’s mission and values
• Oversee scheduling of Athletic Graduate Interns
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach and the Vice President for Athletics

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends to be at football events including home/away contests
• Excellent written and oral skills are required
• Ability to multitask, learn quickly, and communicate effectively

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in related area preferred, two years related experience and/or training in a college or university setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous administrative assistant experience.
