The Gardner-Webb University Physician Assistant Studies Program is seeking qualified candidates to fill a 12-month full-time principal faculty position at the main campus in Boiling Springs. Academic rank will be made based on the appointee’s educational and experiential qualifications.
ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, those aligned with didactic instructional preparation for delivering classroom lectures or clinical skills instruction, development and implementation of OSCEs, ongoing curriculum assessment and modification, student progress and performance assessment, mentoring and advising students in their professional development, participating in continuous program self-assessment and accreditation compliance, and contributing to admissions recruitment, interviews, and selection processes. Opportunities are provided for clinical practice, and professional service to the PA profession is strongly encouraged.
QualificationsHighly qualified applicants must possess a Master’s degree (doctorate preferred) from a regionally accredited university/accredited PA program or medical school. Also required are at least two years of professional clinical practice experience in a clinical health-related field involving direct patient care; current certification by the appropriate certifying body (e.g., NCCPA, ABFM, ABIM, ABP, etc.); and eligibility for medical licensure in North Carolina.
The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal communication skills, including excellent verbal and written communication. Experience in PA or graduate medical education or clinical precepting is desirable. The applicant is expected to participate in inter-professional education opportunities, provide service with active participation in program, school, and university committees, and pursue professional development opportunities annually. Enthusiasm about working in a collaborative environment and self-motivation are essential qualities of a successful applicant.
