Slate Administrator

Gardner-Webb University seeks an experienced and highly motivated individual for the position of Slate Administrator. Reporting to the Vice President of Enrollment Management, the Slate Administrator is responsible for the overall administration and support for the Customer Relationship Management (CRM). As the Slate Administrator Director, you will provide guidance and support to functional users in the day-to-day management of Technolutions Slate functionality supporting admissions initiatives including event management, building complex queries, communication support, management of admission applications, document management, data uploads into Slate, and integrations with the Student Information System and other campus systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Imports data into admission systems from external sources and exports data for distribution to various divisions and departments.
  • Supports university student recruitment efforts by maintaining the integrity of data entered into the database.
  • Creates admission funnel reports for undergraduate, online and graduate student admission.
  • Provides the data required to meet the needs of Admission Offices by using query management tools, researching data requests to support enrollment goals and recruitment initiatives.
  • Builds and updates all Technolutions Slate CRM hosted applications and forms.
  • Identifies and assists with resolving related processing and technology problems.
  • Develops implementation and integration strategies for the Technoloutions Slate CRM; manages the functionality of features within Slate, as well as system-related processes for end-users within the Office of Admission to ensure standardization of use and data.
  • Manage data integrations and assist with error correction in feeds of data between the admission systems, vendor files, university student information systems and site-specific forms that insert records into system. Gain in-depth knowledge of data integrations and business process data usage ensuring optimal data integration and troubleshooting when necessary.
  • In alignment with strategic priorities of the admissions and university leadership groups, develop CRM functionality and work process to maximize ever evolving capabilities of system.
  • Partners with Financial Planning to ensure an accurate and efficient flow of applicant data.
  • Develops training material, facilitates training sessions for current and new staff in the proper use of Admission specific technology.
  • Assists with the implementation of automated communication plans, including the creation of population groups for drip campaigns.
  • Works closely with third party (specifically Ellucian Banner) vendors to ensure Slate integration, data integrity, and a seamless process.

Additional Responsibilities (as assigned):

  • Attend the annual Slate Summit conference, periodic webinars, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Develop and enhance technical skills, in particular Liquid Markup and SQL, which are fundamental to fully utilize Slate functionality.
  • Stay ahead of Best Practices and state of the art Slate development as an active member of the Slate community.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience with CRM admissions systems, preferred Technolutions Slate.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of admission terminology and standardized testing practices.
  • Experience utilizing Technolutions Slate CRM and knowledge of data logic and querying tools.
  • Ability to translate data and business process needs between end users and programmers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems independently.
  • Demonstrated ability at planning and organizing multiple projects and tasks.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize work effectively.
