Checklist

It’s official – you’ve already completed the necessary admissions paperwork, paid your deposit, and now you’re ready to step foot on campus as a Bulldog. Check out what’s next on your to-do list before you arrive.

  • Register for New Student Orientation
    • Sign into WebbConnect
    • Click “New Student” on the left-hand menu
    • Select “Orientation Registration”
  • Register your vehicle
    • Sign into WebbConnect
    • Click “Housing, Meals, Vehicle” on the left-hand menu
    • Select “Register a Vehicle”
    • Your decal will be available when you arrive to campus for move-in!
    • The Vehicle Registration Fee will be added to your student account.
  • Review the Student Handbook
  • Submit your final transcripts to:

  • Big Brother / Big Sister – Upperclassmen who help show you the ropes during New Student Orientation.
  • The Caf – Otherwise known as a cafeteria, The Caf is located in the Dover Campus Center (DCC) and serves as your primary home for eating and gathering.
  • CMU – Campus Ministries United, where there are tons of ways to get involved with all your soul.
  • Dawg Pound – The student cheering section for the Runnin’ Bulldogs!
  • GRD – A Graduate Resident Director is a grad student and staff member who lives on campus and assists in the operations of each residence hall – they are a great resource for you as a new student!
  • LEAP – The Learning Enrichment Assistance Program offers you the opportunity to make peer tutoring appointments for classes that you may need some extra help in.
  • LYCC – The Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center is home to tons of sporting and special events on campus.
  • OMG – No, not that OMG. Here, it’s O. Max Gardner Hall, home to the music department.
  • Peer Leader – An upperclassman who serves as your peer mentor in your UNIV 111 or 101 class. They work their hardest to help you make the successful transition into college.
  • The Quad – The center of campus. Play ultimate Frisbee, take in a concert, or do your homework on a sunny afternoon – there’s always something happening on The Quad.
  • RA – An undergraduate student who lives on the floor of each residence hall to help assist with community needs.
  • GWU Today – The student newspaper! Check out the happenings at GWU-Today.com.
  • UP – You can always reach University Police from any campus phone at x4444.

Dining

Gardner-Webb has several great on-campus dining options. You can access The Caf three times a day with a full meal plan, or use the flex points included with your meal plan at restaurants like Chic Fil A, World of Wings (WOW), or Cantina 1905. We are proud to offer a dining program complete with signature brands andmenu selections that include just about everything you can imagine. Enjoy options from the grill, Ms. Lil's home cooking line, salad bar, vegetarian springs, and more!
  • Chick-fil-A®: Eat more chikin'!
  • WOW Café: Salads, wraps, burgers, and more - all with a little bit of New Orleans flair!
  • SubConnection: Enticing subs made-to-order with high quality meats, garden-fresh produce, and handmade breads.
  • Cantina 1905: A classic Mexican menu that includes burritos, tacos, burrito bowls, and nachos with your choice of pork, chicken, or beef. These flavors will make your mouth dance with joy.
  • Sushi Ichiba: Using only fresh, top of the line ingredients, sushi is rolled daily by a highly-trained itamae.
  • Simply-to-go: For times when you need a food fix in a hurry, the grab and go menu consists of sandwiches, salads, desserts, and microwaveable meals. Convenient items like snacks and beverages are also available.

  • Snack Shop: Right across the street from campus, the Snack Shop is a student hot spot for breakfast and your favorite southern home cooking!
  • Campus Pizzeria: The name sums it up! Pizza, wings, and things!
  • Italian Garden: A Boiling Springs staple - stop by for some baked spaghetti, chicken Alfredo, or hot oven subs!
  • El Acapulco: A student, staff and faculty favorite for Tex-Mex.

Neighboring Shelby

  • Pleasant City: A local spot known for their award-winning wood-fired pizzas.
  • Uptown Sweets and Treats: Frozen yogurt, gourmet popcorn, doughnuts - what more could you want?
  • Mi Pueblito's: "My small town" is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area!
  • Ni Fen Kitchen: One of the newest spots in town, check out their traditional American menu and Asian flair.
  • Toscanos Bistro: Pasta, salad, gyros, pizza, all with Italian and Greek flair.
  • Pelicans: New Orleans-style shaved ice with over 100 different flavors from cotton candy to dill pickle!

Webb Card

Your Webb Card is a multifunctional ID card that allows you to access campus facilities (including your residence hall), pay for meals, print and make copies, and gain entry at athletic, cultural, and other student events.

University Police will issue your card during orientation week. Make sure to bring your photo ID.

If you lose your card, login to your Gardner-Webb Get account and deactivate it, or request a new one through University Police.
