Athletics

Gardner-Webb students have a front row seat to 22 Division I athletic programs. The Dawg Pound cheering section injects every home event with energy and passion and often travels to make sure GWU’s presence is felt, whether we’re up against conference rivals or defeating nationally ranked programs. Visit gwusports.com to view stats, highlights, and the athletic schedule to find out when and where to cheer on the Runnin’ Bulldogs next.

Top Dawg Info

As a student at GWU, you’ll be encouraged to support your fellow students through the Top Dawg program, which rewards campus pride, tradition, and unity by allowing you to “check in” to any number of campus activities, including athletic events, theater performances, and more. Every “check in” earns points towards prizes, with the grand prize being ONE YEAR OF TUITION paid for by the President of GWU.

Campus Recreation

Our facilities and programs ensure that you don’t neglect your body while educating your mind. You can follow your own tried and true fitness routines at the Suttle Wellness Center (and outside on the campus’ numerous paths and green spaces), or take a group fitness class for a more social, structured experience. Campus Recreation also organizes and hosts intramural leagues throughout the year, giving you plenty of opportunities for healthy competition.

Additional campus athletic facilities include an indoor climbing wall at the Tucker Student Center, The Broyhill Adventure Course, a disc golf course, and a variety of multipurpose athletic fields.
