Graduates are given the groundwork for careers in hospitals, doctors offices, and other healthcare organizations.

Gardner-Webb University provides you with a unique opportunity to complete your Bachelor’s Degree. Since 1978, GOAL-The Degree Completion Program has been offering undergraduate classes at more convenient times and locations for students seeking a non-traditional approach to completing their degree.

A degree in Healthcare Management offers the groundwork for business and health-related careers in hospitals, doctor offices and other healthcare organizations. Many of our recent graduates are also pursuing additional studies in the GWU Graduate School of Business and at other colleges and universities in the region.

As part of your degree, we will also equip you with a broad range of general business knowledge in functional areas such as Quantitative Methods, International Business, Business Policy, Healthcare Quality Seminar, International Health, Healthcare Law and Ethics, Human Resource Management, and more. This coupled with an emphasis on Christian business ethics and classroom knowledge of the business environment, the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management will offer you opportunities for reality-based education through an internship or practicum in the field.

In addition to the University’s required general education classes, students in the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management program through the GOAL- The Degree Completion Program must complete major course requirements.

Prerequisites for major course requirements include Accounting Principles (two courses), Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Business Statistics, Business Law, Principles of Marketing, Principles of Management, Programming Language, English 101, English 102, and College Algebra or equivalent.

  3. Submission of official transcripts from any institution attended during the interim if applying for readmission as a former student.

Applicants must have earned at least 24 hours of college credit; those with 48 or more transferable hours may be admitted without additional review. Applicants with fewer than 48 transferable hours will work with their assigned Success Coach in collaboration with the academic program leadership of the applicant’s chosen major program of study to produce a written curriculum plan establishing a clear path to graduation.

Gardner-Webb partners with community colleges in NC for our Pathways program, which offers the opportunity for community college students to transfer credits from their Associates in an Applied Science degree toward a corresponding Bachelor’s degree offered by GOAL-The Degree Completion Program.

Additionally, Gardner-Webb University is a participating institution in the North Carolina Community College Articulation Agreement for an Associates of Arts and Associates of Science degree, offering greater transfer opportunities for continuing your education. The University also participates in the North Carolina RN to BSN Uniform Articulation Agreement, allowing registered nurses who hold an Associate in Nursing degree from a NC Community College to complete a BSN in as little as 1 year following the NCCC RN-BSN 5 block degree program.
