Pastoral Care at Gardner-Webb University is a ministry that attends the needs of the University family in times of joy and sorrow and provides resources for spiritual health.

The Office of Christian Life and Service has a Pastoral Care Team that meets weekly to pray for specific needs on campus and to contact and minister to bereaved students. They are also available to meet with you and pray with you individually. In addition, this team facilitates weekly, campus-wide prayer meetings every Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. before The Gathering.

Prayer Room

Prayer is a crucial part to the spiritual life of our campus and its body. The Bible tells us in 1 John 5:14-15 that “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us-whatever we ask-we know that we have what we asked of him.” Theologian Leonard Ravenhill once said “A man may study because his brain is hungry for knowledge, even bible knowledge. But he prays because his soul is hungry for God.”

On campus we have several opportunities and ministries that seek to fulfill this hunger for God through prayer. There is a Prayer Room in Dover Chapel that is open to anyone no matter the time for prayer, meditation, and expression through art and music.

There is also a Campus-Wide Prayer Meeting prior to The Gathering held on Tuesdays at 7:15 p.m. in the Chapel, Tucker Student Center.

In addition there is Prayer Box in the Lobby of the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center following The Gathering on Tuesdays that you may drop prayer requests in.

Students also periodically plan and participate in 24-7 prayer.
