Experience Is The Difference
Gardner-Webb University has been offering online education since 1999, before some of our competitors even existed.
We were founded in 1905, and have long had a commitment to reaching our students anywhere they are. And while our beautiful campus is in the foothills of western North Carolina, our students are all around the globe.
Whatever online goal you seek, an undergraduate or graduate degree or innovative professional continuing education programs, you’ve come to the right place.
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION
Prepare to teach students in kindergarten through sixth grade. The curriculum offers instruction in a broad spectrum of topics, giving you the toolkit you’ll need to excel in the classroom.
As an online Elementary Education major at GWU, you will learn about the development stages children experience from ages five through twelve, learning characteristics of students from various cultural backgrounds, and explore the unique needs of exceptional students. You will acquire useful techniques and strategies for the classroom and develop stronger skills in communication and personal relationships. In this degree completion program, you will learn through hands-on field experiences in real-life elementary classrooms. Student teaching and field experiences are required to be completed at a North Carolina public or charter school.
