Dr. Luedeman moderated two sessions, “Music, Poets & Mass Communication: Words as Political and Social Work” and “Persuading the Public to See New Things: Communication Innovators and Their Legacies" at the Joint Journalism and Communication History Conference, co-sponsored by the American Journalism Historians Association and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) History Division. The March conference was held at the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute of New York University. In addition, Dr. Luedeman served as a reviewer for paper submissions. She also served as a reviewer for paper submissions for both the AEJMC Southeast Colloquium held in March at the University of South Carolina and the upcoming 102ndAnnual AEJMC conference to be held in August in Toronto, Canada.


Previous Recognition

Prof. Luedeman successfully defended her dissertation, entitled "Collective Memory of the War in Iraq: An Analysis of Letters to the Editor and Public Opinion Polls, 2003-2008," on April 4, 2011. She will earn her Ph.D. in Mass Communications from the School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of South Carolina during the May 7th Doctoral Hooding Ceremony at the Koger Center for the Arts in Columbia, SC. In addition, Luedeman presented her dissertation research March 12th at the Joint Journalism Historians Meeting at New York University, sponsored by the American Journalism Historians Association and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) History Division.
