Gardner-Webb Students Attend 2019 Metrolina Career Fair

Career Connections

A group of students from Gardner-Webb University recently had an opportunity to meet representatives from 16 Forbes Fortune 500 Companies at the 2019 Metrolina Career Fair. In addition, 70 other businesses and graduate schools attended the event.

As a member of the Career Consortium of Metrolina Colleges, Gardner-Webb’s Center for Personal and Professional Development helps sponsor the networking day each year. The Career Consortium is made up of career development professionals from 10 not-for-profit private colleges and universities in the Charlotte-Metrolina area of North Carolina.

The mission of the Career Consortium is to increase students’ networking opportunities with employers and to offer employers an efficient means of recruiting from member institutions.

Various industries and businesses were represented at the event, such as financial, healthcare, law enforcement, first responders and others. In addition to connecting with recruiters, students also had the option of attending two workshops on networking and social media savvy.
