GWU Welcomes WinShape Camps

Gardner-Webb is First Location in Carolinas for WinShape’s Overnight Camps for Boys and Girls

GWU Welcomes WinShape Camps

Staffers with WinShape Camps started moving onto the Gardner-Webb Campus the last week of May and are set to welcome campers on June 9.

Established in 1985 by Chick-fil-A founder, S. Truett Cathy, WinShape aims to provide a camp experience that enables campers to sharpen their character, deepen their Christian faith, and grow in their relationships with others.

With the opening, Gardner-Webb becomes the fifth location to host overnight WinShape Camps and the first location for overnight camps outside the state of Georgia.

“We are unbelievably excited about our first summer at Gardner-Webb,” said Bryant Malone, WinShape Camps marketing manager. “We’ve already had over 100 families sign up to join us for one of our two weeks of camp at GWU. There’s still a few spots available for any families interested.”

Camps run June 9-14 and June 16-21. Boys and girls will get to choose from skills like archery, musical theater, fashion design, team sports and so much more. “They’ll also join us for epic camp-wide activities where they’ll get to have fun and make messes unlike anything they get to do at home,” Malone informed.

Also during the week, campers will explore Matthew 7:24, while talking about a never-changing God. “Change is something that is constant in this world,” Malone observed. “Whether it’s happening around us or inside our own bodies, hearts, and minds, we’re all dealing with change continually. So, how do we find stability in a world of change? Campers will discover how to build their lives on a never-changing God in an ever-changing world.”

WinShape Camps hosts more than 100 day camps across the country, as well as internationally in Brazil and Costa Rica.
