MBA Success Story

Mikota Chosen to Lead South Carolina’s CCTC

A Gardner-Webb University alumnus was recently selected as president of Central Carolina Technical School in Manning, S.C.

Dr. Michael Mikota, who earned a Master of Business Administration degree through the Godbold School of Business at GWU, assumes his new role on July 17.

“My Gardner-Webb University MBA degree prepared me and served as a catalyst for opening doors to leadership positions that I have held over the past 15 years,” Mikota shared. “I was blessed to have had the support and guidance of Dr. Anthony Negbenebor and the many other fine faculty of the Godbold School of Business, both during my time in the MBA program and beyond graduation.”

Prior to this position, Mikota served as the executive director for the Santee-Lynches Regional Council of Governments, where he developed, implemented and governed the successful delivery of policy directives and consulting services by local, state, and federal governments. Mikota worked as a senior analyst for the U.S. Government Accountability Office in Washington, D.C., where he conducted audits and assessed programs for the Comptroller General of the United States.

“The strong foundation that was forged from the experiences I gained through personal growth and learning from faculty who genuinely cared about me has allowed me to positively impact many lives throughout my career,” he reflected, “and I intend to continue to do so ‘For God and Humanity through Business.’”
