Helping Us Help Others

Webbgive Projects Serve San Francisco’s Homeless and Partner with Hurricane Survivors in Puerto Rico

Helping Us Help Others

During the Fall 2018 semester, Gardner-Webb is supporting a service trip to San Francisco to work in the food kitchen at the GLIDE Homeless Shelter, as well as a mission trip to Puerto Rico to improve the living conditions of local communities impacted by hurricanes Maria and Irma.

San Francisco Service Trip

Gardner-Webb students will travel to San Francisco, Calif., to serve at a food kitchen at the GLIDE Homeless Shelter. The students will also put their energy and good cheer to work with the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation on its initiative, “Runyon Up: Stair Climb for Cancer Research.”

Puerto Rico Mission Trip

Partnering with Iglesia Bautista el Mesias in Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico, Gardner-Webb students will help improve the living conditions of the local community affected by poverty and the destruction caused by hurricanes Maria and Irma. Students and their Puerto Rican coworkers will tackle construction and outreach projects while sharing the Gospel and helping with other needs identified by the local ministry.

How You Can Help

You can support our students by making a gift through WebbGive, Gardner-Webb University’s crowdfunding platform. Crowdfunding has grown in popularity as a method of raising capital through the collective effort of friends, family and individual investors.

Webbgive allows GWU to provide campus constituents with year-round fundraising options for smaller projects, disaster relief efforts, and facility updates. One of the biggest benefits of Webbgive is its ability to centralize and streamline the University’s fundraising efforts for scholarships and service initiatives.
