Fall Break Trips Planned to California and Puerto Rico

Opportunities for Service

Pro Deo et Humanitate (For God and Humanity)—the mission statement of Gardner-Webb University—is a commitment to Christian service and leadership. Several opportunities for ministry are available, including national and international mission trips. This fall, trips are scheduled to San Francisco, Calif., to help the homeless and to Puerto Rico to assist in ongoing hurricane recovery efforts.

Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico
October 18-23, 2018
Estimated Cost: $650
Maximum Team Number: 11 students
Partnering Organization: Iglesia Bautista el Mesias

Synopsis: The team will partner with a local church and its ongoing outreach ministry. This includes construction-type work to help improve living conditions and/or assist with the ongoing recovery efforts from hurricanes Irma and Maria. Students will engage in outreach activities to share the Gospel and worship with the local church.

Applications, along with a $100 deposit, are due on September 12, 2018.

Synopsis: The group will work in the homeless shelter preparing and serving a meal and performing other jobs. They will also volunteer with Strides for Life Colon Cancer Foundation.

The deadline to register for the trip is September 12, 2018, or until all spots have been filled.
