Equipment

Club Sports leadership should check with Campus Recreation and Student Engagement prior to purchasing any new equipment to see if the University already owns the equipment they are requesting. If equipment is available, the club can check out this equipment for practices and competitions.

Equipment Purchased via ICC Allotted Funds

ICC-allotted funds may be used to purchase the required equipment for regulation play up to $25 per item. The club funds used for equipment must coincide with the Club Funding Packet request submitted during the previous Spring Semester. Examples include baseball/softball bats/balls, lacrosse sticks/balls, disc golf discs, jerseys (up to $10/jersey), etc.

Equipment Purchased via Club Dues and Fundraisers.

Club money collected via club dues and fundraisers can be used to purchase equipment over the $25 per item limit, additional equipment outside of regulation play, or personal items. These items may include but are not limited to mouthguards, pads, helmets, equipment bags, uniform pants, etc.

All club equipment and jerseys belong to the University and will remain in the Student Engagement inventory. Items must be returned to the Student Engagement Office at the end of each academic year. Personal equipment such as mouthguards and traditional club t-shirts do not need to be returned.

Inventory

An Equipment Inventory Agreement form for each club is kept on file in the Office of Student Engagement. The ADSE staff will monitor the equipment inventory list throughout the year. The ADSE staff and club leadership are expected to conduct a thorough, hands-on inventory evaluation and complete the inventory form at the start and end of each academic year. This includes jerseys, balls, sticks, etc.  Clubs will be billed for any lost or damaged equipment beyond normal wear and tear. Club sports are required to update the Equipment Inventory Agreement list with any new equipment purchased throughout the year.

The Equipment Inventory Agreement form is located in the “View Forms” link at the end of this Handbook, in the “Documents Tab” of the Inter-Club Council Involve Profile, or in the Office of Student Engagement.
