category: Weather Updates Commencement Update: Potential Inclement Weather By Gardner-Webb University On May 7, 2025 At this time, Gardner-Webb University plans to move forward with holding Commencement in Spangler Stadium as scheduled. We are closely monitoring the weather forecast, and any necessary changes will be communicated as soon as possible through the main website and social media channels. While we hope to celebrate outdoors with no limitations on guests, graduates are encouraged to pick up their inclement weather tickets in advance. Guests are permitted to bring umbrellas into the stadium, and in the event of light or passing rain, the ceremony may still proceed as planned. Should severe or dangerous weather conditions arise, the ceremony will be moved indoors to the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center (LYCC), and a ticketing process will go into effect. Inclement Weather Plan If Commencement must be moved indoors due to severe weather, it will be held in the LYCC. In that case, each graduate will receive four general admission tickets for their guests. Tickets will be required for entry. Graduates should report to Bost Gymnasium in the Physical Development Complex by 5:30 PM. Ticket Pickup Tickets may be picked up in Tucker Student Center on Thursday from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. A photo ID is required. The ticket table will be just inside the main doors. Graduates unable to pick up tickets at that time may collect them at the LYCC main entrance ticket booth. A photo ID is required. Guests without a ticket are welcome to watch the livestream of the ceremony in Stewart Hall in the Tucker Student Center. Please check our website and social media pages for updates.
