Godbold College of Business Receives Top Ranking from U.S. News & World Report

Online (non-MBA) Master’s Programs Recognized for Strong Academic Foundations

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—The Gardner-Webb University Godbold College of Business has earned recognition from U.S. News & World Report. In its 2021 rankings of the “Best Online Master’s in Business (non-MBA) Programs,” GWU is in the top tier, placing 53rd out of 164 programs. Further, GWU is one of only six North Carolina colleges on the list. Among the N.C. colleges, Gardner-Webb is the highest-ranked private school.

U.S. News & World Report surveys the colleges to achieve the rankings. Scores are determined based on factors that include student engagement, expert opinion, student excellence, faculty credentials and training, and student services and technology. Highly-ranked programs have strong traditional academic foundations based on the excellence of entering students, graduation rates and instructor credentials. They also excel at educating distance learners while offering robust career and financial support.

Dr. Felice Policastro, director of Graduate Business Programs and professor of international business and finance, said the solid ranking is the result of the faculty working as a team. “We are blessed to have highly-qualified graduate faculty poised with business theory and practice who care about our graduate students,” he praised.

The Godbold College of Business offers a Master of Accountancy (MACC), International Master of Business Administration (IMBA), and a new program, Master in Sport Management (MSPM). In addition, post-master, 18-hour certificates are also available.

These programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), a leading specialized accreditation association for business education. ACBSP accredits business, accounting, and business-related programs at the associate, baccalaureate, master, and doctorate degree levels worldwide. ACBSP promotes continuous improvement and recognizes excellence in the accreditation of business education programs around the world.
