Studying Management Information Systems at Gardner-Webb University will provide you with comprehensive training in information management using today’s technologies, preparing you for a successful career helping companies efficiently and effectively manage data and other resources.
In the Management Information Systems program, you will explore such topics as computer programming and networking, database and information management, and software engineering. The skills you obtain will equip you to help companies improve productivity through efficient information management.
The business school will also give you a broad range of general business knowledge in functional areas such as marketing, finance, management, and accounting.
In addition to the University’s required general education and prerequisites, the Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems includes 36 credit hours in Broyhill Undergraduate School of Management core business courses. The major also requires 24 hours of specific courses in systems analysis and design, information systems project management, database management, and a Capstone Course in strategic information management.
Students in the Management Information Systems program will also be responsible for completing an internship in Computer Science orManagement Information Systems.

In addition to the University’s required general education classes, students in the Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems program through the Online Undergraduate Program must complete 36 hours of core business courses and 3-6 hours of additional program courses. Students will also complete 21 hours of specific courses in systems analysis and design, information systems project management, database management, and a Capstone Course in strategic information management.

The Accelerated Master of Business Administration (MBA) program allows undergraduate Gardner-Webb students to begin work in the MBA program while completing their bachelor’s degree.
Qualified students may apply for admission to the Accelerated MBA during their junior year (or after 60 credit hours). If accepted, students can take up to six credit hours of graduate coursework to apply toward their MBA degree and earn combination credit for these hours at the undergraduate level.
Courses in this program are taught online in eight-week terms to increase flexibility.
