Requirements for Tier 1 Organizations

Tier 1 organizations are eligible for university funding. Organizations wishing to apply for club funding will need to meet or exceed the following requirements to be considered a Tier 1 organization. If requirements are not met, please refer to the PROBATION & DEACTIVATION OF STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS section for consequent processes.

  1. Participate in the Fall Connect Fair and Spring Club Fair.
  2. Hold 7 monthly leadership team meetings per year.
    1. Sept. Oct. Nov. Jan. Feb. March, April.
    2. Log meeting notes in Involve.
  3. Keep Involve up-to-date at all times.
    1. Leadership team roster.
    2. Membership roster.
    3. Organization Charter and Constitution.
  4. Meet S-S-S requirements outlined in the section below.
  5. Host at least 4 meetings/events for organization members per year (two per semester).
    1. One of these events can also include attending either a Student Engagement sponsored or GWU club or organization-sponsored event as a group.
  6. Have a full-time GWU faculty/staff or current GWU adjunct professor advisor.
  7. Complete annual reregistration every April.

Requirements for Tier 2 Organizations

Tier 2 organizations are granted all rights and privileges that Tier 1 organizations are, aside from eligibility for university funding. Organizations will need to meet or exceed the following requirements to maintain active status and be considered a Tier 2 organization. If requirements are not met, please refer to the PROBATION & DEACTIVATION OF STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS section for consequent processes.

  1. Participate in the Fall Connect Fair and Spring Club Fair.
  2. Hold 4 leadership team meetings per year.
    1. Log meeting notes in Involve.
  3. Keep Involve up-to-date at all times.
    1. Leadership team roster.
    2. Membership roster.
    3. Organization Charter and Constitution.
  4. Meet S-S-S requirements outlined in the section below.
  5. Have a full-time GWU faculty/staff or current GWU adjunct professor advisor.
  6. Complete annual reregistration every April.

Requirements for Tier 3 Organizations

Honor Societies Only

Tier 3 is only open for honor societies. Tier 3 honor societies are not held to the standards stated in the PROBATION & DEACTIVATION OF STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS section. This is to allow students who qualify for their specific honor society to receive the national recognition they have worked hard for without the possible deactivation consequence of not meeting either tier 1 or tier 2 requirements. Tier 3 is not eligible for university funding.

  1. Have a full-time GWU faculty or staff advisor.
  2. Complete annual reregistration every April.
