The Master of Arts in Instructional Technology is designed for licensed K-12 teachers interested in furthering their skills in technology and advancing their careers.

What You’ll Learn

The MAIT is designed for licensed K-12 teachers interested in furthering their skills in technology and advancing their careers. The Master of Arts in Instructional Technology program will provide:

• Opportunities to become lifelong learners and leaders who model, create, facilitate, and collaborate technology within the curriculum,
• Opportunities to utilize and integrate current technologies in the classroom,
• Become experienced users of web applications, blogs, social media, and discussion forums,
• A study of technology models, resources, and current practices in technology integration,
• A learning atmosphere that supports and promotes mission, vision, values, and goals,
• Opportunities to collaborate and participate in Professional Learning Networks with other educators,
• Opportunities for exposure to hardware, software, and resource planning and implementation.

Available Programs

Master of Arts in Instructional Technology

Students in the Master of Arts in Instructional Technology program must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum 2.50 grade point average for all coursework beyond high school. A minimum of three years of North Carolina Department of Public Instruction-recognized teaching experience is required by the time the student completes the program.

Integrated curriculum will be offered within the five-semester, 33-hour Instructional Technology degree program. Each semester students will take one module, consisting of six integrated semester hours. The final three courses of the program combine each six-credit-hour course with a one-credit-hour internship during the third, fourth, and fifth semesters.

What You’ll Do

Upon completion of this program, candidates will have earned a Master of Arts in Instructional Technology and can be recommended for an NCDPI 077 – Instructional Technology Facilitator or NCDPI 079 add-on licensure as an Instructional Technology Facilitator Special Endorsement.
