Renovations Feature Modern Seating, Outdoor Patio Dining, and Special Events and Activities

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—The new Caf is ready to serve the Gardner-Webb University Campus in an energized atmosphere with special events and activities. The larger dining space offers updated seating, and improved meal options give students more choices.

From July 24 through Aug. 18, the Caf is open for:

  • Breakfast – 7:30 to 9 a.m.
  • Lunch – 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Dinner – 5 to 6 p.m.

Then, on Aug. 21 at 11 a.m., the entire campus is invited to celebrate the Caf reopening with a ribbon cutting. The “Back-to-School Luau Cookout” includes a DJ, games, entertainment, tie-dye shirts, and food.

“The Caf renovation and expansion project is a massive upgrade and a big win for our students and for the entire campus community,” shared Gardner-Webb President Dr. William M. Downs. “It’s all new, bright, fresh, and inviting … a gathering place where we will break bread together and where we will make memories together. Everything is now ready for Aramark to elevate our dining experience, and I’m eager for the start of a new school year so that we may begin enjoying this special showcase of university life at GW.”

The space in Dover Campus Center has been transformed and extended with modern seating, including booths and outdoor patio dining. Enhanced digital menu boards also display nutritional and dietary information. The renovations feature an open kitchen where you can watch the talented cooks prepare and serve meals. A new open concept wing adds 1,500 square feet of dining space and features Christian symbolism within the architectural design.

Aramark field marketing coordinator Anastasia Cornish noted that the chefs are eager to introduce the campus to the new dining experience. “Our chefs are extremely excited to cook up student favorites during our ‘Chef Spotlight’ events,” Cornish observed. “We look forward to sharing our food story and enhancing student’s dining experience.”

An updated Brick Oven Pizza Station delivers pizza created with freshly made dough and house made Italian-inspired sauce. The Global Kitchen Station features delicious food from around the world with made-to-order dishes from cultural cuisine hotspots.

In addition to the new menu offerings and remodeling, Cornish said the Aramark Marketing Team has planned fun and exciting events throughout the school year, such as:

  • Welcome back week activities.
  • National food holidays.
  • Birthday month celebrations.
  • Games and trivia.
  • Chef pop-ups.
  • Holiday celebrations.
  • Homecoming activities and dinner.
  • Limited time offer specials.
  • Student favorites.
  • Giving back to the community events.
  • Cooking with the chefs.
