Home / People / Nate Evans Nate Evans University President Nate Evans serves as President of Gardner-Webb University, having previously led the Office of Advancement as Vice President. In that role, he oversaw alumni relations, major gifts, the Bulldog Club, and the annual fund. Before joining Gardner-Webb, Evans was a senior advancement officer at East Carolina University (ECU) in Greenville, N.C. Evans began his higher education career as an admissions counselor with ECU Undergraduate Admissions before transitioning to university advancement. As a major gifts officer for the ECU Honors College and later as a regional advancement officer, he built lasting relationships with alumni across North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Texas, and Colorado. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Evans also spent time in the small business sector before entering higher education. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Biology from ECU and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Western Carolina University. Active in his community, Evans has served with a motorcycle ministry and as head coach for a middle school wrestling team. He and his wife, Brittany, live with their two dogs and enjoy staying active, being outdoors, riding motorcycles, and spending time with friends.
